Slab paving driveways

Paved driveways are a standard sight. Many people choose to use slab paving to make their driveway because of the wide choice of materials, colors and sizes available. Slab paving is usually crafted from natural rocks, like sandstone or limestone, or concrete. These stones vary in coloring and appearance; sandstone is usually reasonably light, whereas limestone is normally darker. As time passes, natural stone tends to get darker, whereas concrete usually gets lighter. Cement can be dyed, however, so if you would like an obscure shade you may be able to get it in concrete. Slab paving comes in several different sizes. You should use paving slabs that are the same size, or cover your driveway with different size slabs. Large driveways usually look better with much larger paving slabs, while smaller slabs suit smaller driveways. Slab paving can frequently be custom-made so you can get the perfect size slabs for your driveway. It’s important to work with paving slabs that are ideal for your driveway. If you’re likely to frequently have heavy vehicles on your driveway it’s better to use paving slabs that are relatively thick and small. It is because thinner, larger slabs will break under pressure.
